Q: Do I need a Postal Indicia?

A: There is no Postal Indicia required for Neighbourhood Mail

Q: Can I do a die-cut mailer?

A: Yes you can, provided it’s on a
minimum 7pt cover stock

Q: Is there a minimum volume required?

A: There is no minimum volume required but we recommend testing at least 10,000 pieces

 Direct Mail Guidelines

As long as your mailing is promotional in nature or is soliciting a donation, this type of mail falls into Canada Post’s reduced cost category of Personalized Mail.

Deliver personalized marketing messages (although you must have an address.) You can use your own house list or you can rent or trade a list.

Personalized Direct Mail

Canada Post Category: Personalized Mail – One to One

Examples:

  • Welcome mailings

Unaddressed Direct Mail

Canada Post Category: Neighbourhood Mail – One to Many

Radius to bricks & mortar location or select households that match up to your current customers. You can get started quickly and easily without any data.

This has the lowest postage cost. You can reach broadly to every home, apartment, and/or business in a select neighbourhood.

  • Flyers promoting restaurants, home improvement, lawn care, dentists, retail sales municipal newsletters, activity guides and recycle and garbage schedules

Canada Post Category: Postal Code Targeting – One to Few

Examples:

  • Automotive offers

  • Home improvement such as window & doors, roofing, etc.

  • Cable, cell phone and internet offers.
