Uma
Uma (short for Umakavury) was born in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, and is pictured here with her sister-in-law Sukuna - who also happens to be a fellow chef at the Kitchen. The duo are often found working (and laughing) side by side as part of our warehouse and fulfillment team, where Uma is always busy picking, packing, and keeping things moving smoothly.
Outside of work, Uma enjoys long walks (we keep telling her to join MK’s monthly step challenge!) and loves nothing more than watching a beautiful sunset.
Sukuna
To quote Sade, Sukuna is one ‘smooth operator’ (!) With a wonderful smile, and a keen eye, Sakuna is a trusted pair of hands here at the Kitchen and she is very much part of our MK family.
She has aways loved to travel and left her native Sri Lanka as a teenager to live and work in Singapore before settling here in Canada back in 1987 and still loves to explore the world whenever opportunity allows.
In her spare time Sukuna can be found in her own kitchen - enjoying baking and trying new recipes and there’s always a line of guinea pigs waiting to sample the results!
